For Tutors and Parents

  • First, look at the picture together. Encourage the learner to talk about what they see and see if they recognize the object.

  • Next, listen to the audio or read the sentences aloud while the learner follows along.

  • Then review the vocabulary words. After that, the learner can read the sentences.

  • Guide the learner if they need more assistance and repeat the reading if needed.

  • If the reading feels too challenging, review the STEPS – A Beginner’s Course before starting the First Readers.
